About us

Launched by an NIH Innovation Grant, syGlass grew out of neuroscience and computer vision laboratories at West Virginia University.

syGlass was initially designed for the university’s neuroscience researchers, overcoming a major problem they faced: complex and large datasets viewing neurons and their connections across scales of resolution. Inundated with requests by other scientists to use our software, we worked to affordably commercialize syGlass and share our inventive features for laboratories around the world.

At syGlass, we believe that the power of visualization can revolutionize the way we learn and engage with science. Our cutting-edge software solution brings virtual reality direct volume rendering to life, enabling scientists and students alike to immerse themselves in CT, MRI, and 3D microscopy data. Through this innovative technology, we are reshaping the landscape of science education and paving the way for a brighter, more accessible future.

Science education is a cornerstone of global stability, and accessibility is the key to unlocking its potential. At syGlass, we are committed to breaking down barriers by providing a platform that empowers scientists, instructors, and learners to explore, annotate, and communicate around science data. Our software creates an unparalleled experience that bridges the gap between theory and practice
